The A&L Furniture Cedar Marlboro Garden Glider is a handcrafted Amish outdoor glider bench in the classic Marlboro style — built from genuine western red cedar in Gap, Pennsylvania. It delivers the smooth forward-and-back gliding motion of a pivot-arm mechanism (no floor contact, no scuffing) in a two-person bench sized to anchor a front porch, covered patio, or garden seating area. Available in 4-foot and 5-foot widths across 9 stain and finish options.

Glider vs. swing: what's the difference?

A glider bench moves on a pivot-arm mechanism and stays in constant contact with its base — the seat glides forward and back while remaining level, and the base stays stationary on the floor. This means no floor contact from the seat itself, making gliders ideal for composite decks, painted porch floors, and any surface where a swinging or rocking motion would cause marks. See our complete glider guide →

Marlboro profile

The Marlboro highback is A&L's most classic and versatile outdoor furniture profile — vertical back slats, straight top rail, wide armrests. The Marlboro garden glider is available in 4-foot (seats 2 adults comfortably) and 5-foot (seats 2–3 adults) widths. For a more ornate profile, see the Royal English Cedar Glider or Traditional English Cedar Glider.

Cedar construction and maintenance

Western red cedar is naturally resistant to moisture, insects, and decay — ideal for outdoor furniture in most US climates. Stain or seal every 2–3 years in wet climates for best longevity. In covered, sheltered applications, maintenance intervals can be significantly longer.
