The A&L Furniture Yellow Pine Royal English Garden Swingbed is a generously proportioned outdoor porch swing bed handcrafted in the USA by Amish craftsmen in Gap, Pennsylvania. Sized significantly larger than a standard porch swing, it's designed for lying flat, lounging, and genuine outdoor sleeping — a true porch daybed experience in classic Royal English Garden style with ornate back slat detailing and graceful scalloped trim.
Available in 4-foot, 5-foot, and 6-foot widths, in your choice of stain or unfinished yellow pine. All hardware included. Ships with hanging rope.
Why A&L Yellow Pine?
A&L Furniture has built outdoor wooden furniture by hand in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania since 1984. Yellow pine is one of the strongest, densest softwoods available — significantly harder than cedar and well-suited to the structural demands of a large swing bed. It holds stain beautifully and develops warm character over time. Choose a stain finish for best weather protection; unfinished pine can be stained or sealed to your preference after delivery.
Royal English Garden style
The Royal English Garden profile is the most ornate of A&L's porch swing designs — featuring elegantly shaped back slats, curved top rail, and detailed trim work that brings a formal English garden sensibility to any covered porch or pergola. It's the most statement-making of the swing bed styles and pairs especially well with traditional homes, farmhouses, and cottage-style porches.
Sizing and installation
The 4-foot width comfortably accommodates two adults lying side by side. The 5-foot and 6-foot widths provide even more generous lounging room. For installation, you'll need ceiling joists, pergola beams, or an A-frame stand rated for the swing bed's weight plus occupants — minimum 600 lbs total load capacity recommended.
