Mortise and tenon joinery throughout. For safety reasons, the upper and lower bunks cannot be separated. Headroom between lower and upper bunks is approximately 44 inches. Headboard and footboard feature a built in ladder. Maximum mattress thickness is 8" Some assembly required. 20-year limited warranty included at no additional charge. This item is sold "ready to finish" i.e., it is ready for the purchaser to paint, stain or stain and lacquer.
