The Marlboro has straight vertical slats and a flat-topped backrest — the classic, no-frills profile that suits virtually any home style. The Fanback has a distinctive curved top rail with radiating slats — more decorative and eye-catching, particularly suited to Victorian, craftsman, and traditional Colonial homes where a more ornamental look is desired. Both are equally well-built and use the same western red cedar construction.
