Gearing up to go back to school can be a stressful time for any student or parent. With the amount of pressure, nervousness, and confusion going through everyone’s mind, the goal is to not let it ruin the experience for the student.

When preparing your child for school, it’s important you keep them enthused about going back to school. This will often require the parent to act enthused, so don’t be afraid to hype it up for them.

It might also help to make a tradition out of it, that way the child can attach some form of outside excitement to the start of the school year. Doing a family photo, having a get-together with the family the night before, having a big breakfast on the first day of school, something to uplift their spirits.

While they’ll be getting exercise in school, it’s also important they stay active at home. If it’s a nice day out, make sure they go outside for another 30 minutes or an hour. Chores are a great way of ensuring this and will keep them active.

Finally, make sure your child isn’t staying up too late. Since they have to be up at the same time every morning, it’s best to make sure they go to bed at the same time every night. Routines are very helpful for the body and brain.
