The A&L Furniture Cedar Fanback Swing presents the classic fan-shaped backrest that distinguishes the Fanback style from the straight-lined Marlboro — gracefully curved top rail and radiating back slats creating an elegantly traditional porch swing profile. Handcrafted in Gap, Pennsylvania by Amish craftsmen from western red cedar. Available in 4-foot, 5-foot, and 6-foot widths across 9 stain and finish options. Chains included. Free shipping.
The Marlboro has straight vertical slats and a flat-topped backrest — the classic, no-frills profile that suits virtually any home style. The Fanback has a distinctive curved top rail with radiating slats — more decorative and eye-catching, particularly suited to Victorian, craftsman, and traditional Colonial homes where a more ornamental look is desired. Both are equally well-built and use the same western red cedar construction.
