The A&L Furniture Rope Kit for Hanging Swings and Swing Beds is a 100% polypropylene rope that is fully waterproof, UV-treated, and will not rot, mildew, or degrade with outdoor exposure — unlike natural fiber rope which deteriorates quickly in humid climates. Pre-cut and sized for the specific ceiling height you specify at ordering: available for 8-foot, 9-foot, 10-foot, and 12-foot ceilings.
Rope is the classic hanging method for porch swings with a traditional aesthetic — it produces a warmer, more relaxed look than chain hardware and is perfectly appropriate for covered porch applications. This polypropylene rope maintains its strength and appearance indefinitely in outdoor conditions.
Rope creates a softer, more natural aesthetic and suits wood swings and swing beds with a traditional character. Chain is more adjustable (add or remove links for height adjustment), more durable in uncovered exposed applications, and better suited for poly swings where appearance consistency is important long-term. For covered porches with wood swings, rope is an excellent choice. For outdoor exposed applications or poly swings, see our hardware guide.
