Gingerbread Cottage - Panelized Kit with Floor & Chimney

The Gingerbread Cottage is Little Cottage Co.'s most whimsical playhouse design — instantly recognizable by its curved storybook roofline, decorative gingerbread trim, and a heart-shaped window that turns a backyard structure into a genuine kids' fairytale cottage. At 8' x 8', it offers a generous 91" x 91" interior, giving children real room to play, decorate, and make it their own.

What's Included

• 8' x 8' footprint with 45" sidewalls and 94.5" outside height (98" with the optional 4x4 runner base)
• 82" of interior headroom over a 91" x 91" floor
• Signature curved roof trusses and gingerbread trim throughout
• 2 working 14"x21" tempered-glass windows with screens, plus a decorative heart-shaped window
• Adult-size door (34"W x 61.5"H) and child-size dutch door (20"W x 40"H)
• 2 flower boxes and a decorative chimney
• 2x3 wall studs on 24" centers, 7/16" OSB roof sheathing, grooved LP SmartSide siding, pre-primed
• 5/8" plywood floor with treated sub-floor framing included

The kit ships as pre-fastened, pre-primed panel sections with the gingerbread trim already applied, so assembly is a matter of joining labeled panels rather than cutting lumber. Little Cottage Co.'s general assembly guidance estimates 4 to 8 hours for 2 adults depending on kit size and experience — for an 8x8 build, plan for a full day, possibly spread across a weekend for first-time builders. Shingles, drip-edge, and exterior paint are supplied by the customer.

With its storybook silhouette, the Gingerbread Cottage is a standout gift for a birthday or holiday, and its 8x8 footprint makes it substantial enough to serve as a genuine backyard playroom rather than a token play structure — room for a small table, storage, and imaginative play well beyond the toddler years.
