Yellow pine construction
Yellow pine (southern yellow pine) is one of the hardest and most durable softwoods — substantially stronger than cedar or most other pine species. A&L has used it as their primary swing bed material since the beginning because it withstands the structural loads of a large swing bed better than lighter woods, holds stain well, and develops warm character over decades. For maximum weather protection, choose a stained finish; unfinished wood accepts any exterior stain or sealer you prefer.
