Yellow pine is one of the strongest, densest softwoods available — significantly harder than cedar and well-suited to the structural demands of a large swing bed. It holds stain beautifully and develops warm character over time. Choose a stain finish for best weather protection; unfinished pine can be stained or sealed to your preference after delivery.

Sizing and installation
The 4-foot width comfortably accommodates two adults lying side by side. The 5-foot and 6-foot widths provide even more generous lounging room. For installation, you'll need ceiling joists, pergola beams, or an A-frame stand rated for the swing bed's weight plus occupants — minimum 600 lbs total load capacity recommended.
